If you haven’t heard of the giant cluster that is/was the Fyre Festival, you’re missing out on entertainment gold.
Rundown: The first “annual” Fyre Festival was supposed to be an exclusive 2 week concert in the Bahamas. Guests, mainly my fellow Millennial, paid $4,000 to over $250,000 for tickets. The event organizers had built a tent city, complete with electricity, waste disposal, ground and air transportation, and security. Trouble is, they under-shot the estimation of how much resources they’d need.
So now you have thousands of people stuck on an island. Throw some zombies in, and you’ve got an island you want to be voted off of.
According to William Finley, one of the guests, the airport shut down under the pressure. Unlike other airports that shut down, like, say, San Francisco International (I hate you, SFO), this one locked the customers inside. Why, I don’t know.
Finley says:
“They literally locked us in with a chain because people kept going in and out.
Some people passed out because it was so hot. Then they finally unlocked the door and let the air in and a flight finally came.”

It’s a great example of what happens in refugee and disaster situations when the sheer mass of humanity overwhelms resources.
