While there are many characters who come and go, and also many who are recurring, these are the main actors in the series.
Nathan Serebus
Age: 33
Profession: Owner and founder of Arete Technologies, computer science
The son of a greek fisherman in Dutch Harbor in Unalaska, Alaska, Nathan refused to follow thee family business. He moved to Silicon Valley to start his tech company, which is now a multimillion-dollar corporation. Its interests are diverse but focus on servers and network security. He moved the HQ to NYC six years ago.
Nathan is ambitious in all fields of life. When he puts his mind to it, nothing can stop him. He’d rather consider himself a magnificent bastard than a hero any day. However, that doesn’t mean he’s a jerk. Quite the contrary! Charming and charismatic, he’s the perfect gentleman when he feels like it. That said, he’ll still happily challenge anyone who gets in his way.
He lives in Manhattan with Janine, his wife of three years. They have one child, David, who is almost four.
Albin Conrad
Age: 30
Profession: Business attorney, adviser to Nathan Serebus
Born in the UK but with an American mother, he claims dual citizenship. He spent time in the USA and UK growing up. He has an MBA and a JD. A loyal friend and adviser, he enjoys assisting his friend and employer Mr. Serebus. Albin would rather guide from the shadows than take the reins – a fact that increases Nathan’s trust in him.
He lives in Manhattan. He spends significant time with the Serebus family, who compose the majority of his social life. Even so, he’s not afraid in the least of Nathan’s wrath and won’t hesitate to tactfully drag him away from a poor move, though he rarely must do so. He’s younger than his employer but seems older. His skills and interests are quite varied.
Josephine Behrmann
Age: late 20s
Profession: TV news reporter for ABC
A native of Cali, Jo attended UC Berkeley for a in BS Journalism. She wants to rise in the ranks of journalism at ABC, but she wants to do real reporting, not just be a pretty face. She wants to do investigative journalism, something that matters. That said, she’s torn between wanting to become a news event and wanting to report it. Her drive to the top means she often crosses swords with her superiors, as she likes to argue and be devil’s advocate.
She likes to hike and paddle surf. Nothing frightens her.
Marvin Bridges
Age: Early 30s
Profession: Soon-to-be economist at the Federal Reserve, working on his doctorate
A resident of Washington, DC, he works for the Fed and wants to climb in the ranks. However, he’s quite easy going and works because he likes to keep a roof over his head. He enjoys adventure but doesn’t hunt it down. A good game of D&D usually fills his adrenaline quota.
He’s loyal to friends and family, but he’s currently single.
